BIOGRAPHY

Aaryan is an aspiring physician who wants to pursue the intersections of medicine and global health. He wants to reach the whole world, especially in underserved communities. He has been with the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute since seventh-grade and found his passion for medicine and global health through programs that were presented by upperclassmen. Aaryan has built a strong foundation in his core values through the SLI program which he used to expand Biomedical Youth Labs, a Bay Area outreach initiative which brings hands-on biomedical science education to over 200 students in partnership with Santa Clara City Libraries and elementary schools.
Aaryan’s commitment to global health is reflected across two summers with the Summer Global Health Immersion Program in Pampanga, Philippines, where he helped to provide free healthcare to underserved communities, conduct field research on parasites and malnutrition in indigenous Aeta children, documented patient case studies across multiple barangays, and returned as a veteran leader to mentor incoming students.
At Santa Clara High School, he became co-president of the GIDAS club where he provided opportunities for students to learn how to conduct genetic research and explore different fields of biomedicine.
Beyond his academics, Aaryan has practiced martial arts for over a decade in disciplines of taekwondo, muay thai, and arnis. As an avid webnovel, manga, manhwa, and anime enthusiast Aaryan loves to geek out about his interests. He loves to play music, be it electric guitar or traditional Indian percussion.
Aaryan wants to focus on his passion for health equity, while striving to make efforts in the field of medical research and surgery.
