Ninya has been a part of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI) since 7th grade. Throughout her six years in the program, she has developed strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while gaining valuable technical knowledge through hands-on projects and real-world experiences. These opportunities have helped shape her passion for making a positive impact in her community and preparing for future challenges.

One of Ninya’s favorite parts of SLI was participating in projects that combined teamwork, innovation, and service. Through these experiences, she learned how to approach complex problems, communicate effectively with others, and create meaningful solutions. More importantly, SLI taught her the value of giving back and using her skills to support those around her.

Outside of SLI, Ninya has been deeply involved in volleyball for over ten years. She has played club volleyball for the past decade and has been a member of the SCHS Varsity Volleyball team for all four years of high school. In addition, she served as a member of her school’s leadership program during her senior year, helping organize events and strengthen school culture. Through volleyball and leadership, she has developed resilience, discipline, and a strong commitment to teamwork. Ninya is excited to continue learning, growing, and making a difference in the years ahead at UC Berkeley.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, ASML, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
