Zoe Reyes Laughery is a dedicated and hardworking student who has spent the last six years committed to the STEM Leadership Institute, where she developed a strong passion for learning, problem-solving, and helping others. Throughout her academic journey, she has gained valuable knowledge and experiences that have shaped both her educational and personal growth. After beginning her studies at Santa Clara High School, Zoe quickly became involved in sports and a variety of extracurricular activities that allowed her to build leadership skills, teamwork, and confidence.

Balancing academics with athletics and school involvement has helped her become a well-rounded and motivated individual. Her experiences in STEM inspired her interest in healthcare and caring for others, leading her to pursue a future in nursing. This fall, Zoe will take the next step toward her goals by attending Sonoma State University, where she plans to study nursing. She is excited to continue learning, growing, and making a positive impact in the lives of others through her future career in healthcare.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, ASML, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
