Ishaan is a student with a strong passion for mathematics, engineering, and technology, reflected through both his academic pursuits and extracurricular leadership. As software lead of FIRST Tech Challenge Team Erudite , he developed advanced robotics software, including a calculus-based odometry system that significantly improved the robot’s autonomous precision in competition. His team earned multiple Motivate Awards, Design Award recognition, and repeated qualification for regional competition.

Beyond robotics, Ishaan has pursued advanced mathematical study through the California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) at UC Davis, where he explored topics including multivariable calculus, topology, linear algebra, and probability theory. He also spread his passion for mathematics through tutoring others as well as participating in the school Mathletes club.

Outside the classroom, Ishaan is a nationally competitive tennis player and exhibited his leadership as captain of the SCHS tennis team. Through STEM outreach initiatives, he has also taught coding to students and worked to expand access to science and technology education within his community.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, ASML, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
