Anushree has been a dedicated member of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute for the past six years, exploring diverse STEM fields including computer science, biostatistics, and neuroscience. As an SLI student, she contributed to projects such as Full STEAM Ahead, an online website helping SCHS students discover STEAM careers and opportunities. She also helped design an assistive product for Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome patients and developed a machine learning algorithm to identify immunotherapy-eligible biomarkers in pancreatic cancer patients.

Beyond academics, Anushree has held several leadership roles in her school and community. She is the Founder and President of the DIY Crafts Club at SCHS and has volunteered as a peer tutor for Algebra II and Chemistry Honors students. Her commitment to outreach includes organizing STEM workshops for local children and teaching AI, coding, & computer architecture to women internationally. She has also been a member of the Varsity Tennis Team for the past three years.

In her free time, Anushree enjoys drawing, cooking with her mother, playing guitar, and spending time with her younger brother. She plans to pursue interdisciplinary STEM research by majoring in cognitive science and machine learning in college.

The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (49ers SLI) provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to students in middle and high school. Students, who are with the program for six years from 7th through 12th grade, commit annually to 300+ hours of program learning time in addition to their typical school hours. By cultivating student mastery in STEM subjects and in key skill areas, the program prepares students for college and empowers them to pursue their passions; so that they may become the well-rounded leaders of the future. The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is made possible by the strong partnership between Silicon Valley Education Foundation, 49ers Foundation, ASML, and the Santa Clara Unified School District.
